The paintings of Hans Vandenberg are based on an impressionistic or realistic point of view on people, animals, landscapes, still-lives with sometimes overwhelming, as well as more moderated colours.
Surprise is his source of inspiration. He is always looking for the raison d'etre of things that touch him, that fascinate him. He paints in oil or acrylic to create his own world of images, his own experience of a scene or character of humans or animals. Sometimes he manipulates the paint with sand or other materials to attain more structure.
