After art school Hans Vandenberg started with pen drawings, in which atmosphere and character were mayor themes. After a while he felt the need to start painting in an unrestrained way. Emotions of people, their behaviour became his source of inspiration in abstract as well as realistic ways. Started in the nineties (mainly Greek) mythology touched him very much and he started using these motives and characters to create the struggle of Titans that lives in all human beings. He tried to connect outside and inside world, sometimes in harmony, often full of stress. Recently his goals have moved towards the meeting of light and dark, the battle of man between delusion and reality. Hans lives and works as a painter and painting-teacher in 's-Hertogenbosch, capitol of the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands.
